What to Look for in a Reliable Roofing Company

We understand the pressure trying to find the right company to service your home. Believe us we have seen it all... When you get scorned by one company it is hard to trust anyone after. This is why we want to make sure you are choosing the correct company to service you home who is trustworthy, reliable and does great work.

The company will not ask for a downpayment

When a company or person asks for a downpayment, (*with the exception of a higher cost job, meaning $80,000.00 or more) then you should be weary. Although a good company may have you sign a contract to make sure you pay the full amount in the end, which should also include a clause about the work being finalized as well.

The company will have insurance

What most people do not know is that all contracting companies are required to have general liability insurance. There are no exceptions so if they cannot provide you with this, then they are not a trustworthy or reliable company.

The owner themselves will come out to look at your roof

This is not always a requirement, but if the owner is looking at your roof personally, then you know they care about their customers and their quality. This also mean you get to avoid those pesky salespeople.

If you ask for references, they will be able to give them to you

If you look on their website or Facebook page and it does not look like they have many pictures of their work or have any, then ask for references. Even if they do have pictures, ask for references. This must not include family or friends. They will be able to give them to you without a problem (although, this might stall the process because contractors are busy people). This just gives you the extra cushion you may need to trust them.

They will not push and push for getting your roof covered by insurance

A lot of these big companies will try to sell you on "hail damage" even though it has not hailed in years. They will try to sell you on some sort of damage in order to get a bigger payout from your insurance. This of course is not all companies but be wary if they are pushing it. A trustworthy company will let you know IF you need coverage, or even if you actually need a new roof or just a repair. They will come and inspect the roof themselves and tell you the truth without making you decide in that moment.

Overall, just trust your gut

Trust that you are in the right hands if you feel that way and if not, get more estimates. at the end of the day, this is your home, your safe space, don't jeopardize that to save a little money, but also do not let big companies try to take every bang for your buck.
